Queen St Bridge Closure

NCDOT will close Queen Street at the Neuse River bridges Monday, August 3rd for approximately 1 year. Access to downtown will be provided by using King Street from Queen to Hwy 70.

NEW Customer Web Access

June 2015 Kinston Public Services is debuting a new way to view and/or pay your bill!

To activate your Customer Web Access account click on the Customer Web Access icon found on the left side of this screen. You will need the following information to complete your sign-up:

1. Account number - Your account number will consist of five numbers, a dash, and then more numbers. For example: 12345-1234
2. Social Security Number -Last four (4) numbers
3. Drivers License Number - Last four (4) numbers

6/1/15- Kinston City Council voted unanimously to sell our assets to Duke Energy. We are looking forward to retail rate decrease in the fall.

4/2/15 - Governor Pat McCrory signed legislation approving NCEMPA Asset Sale.

3/31/15 - NC House unanimously passes NCEMPA Asset Sale 115-0.

3/25/15 - In a 47-1 vote, the NC Senate okayed the plan that allows Duke Energy Progress to purchase Electricities stake in nuclear power plants. -WITN

3/17/15 - Two bills were recently filed related to the NCEMPA Asset Sale. The companion bills are House Bill 265 "NCEMPA Sale" and Senate Bill 305 "NCEMPA Asset Sale." This legislation is needed to complete the sale of NCEMPA's generation assets to Duke Energy Progress and is a critical next step in the approval process.

NRWASA wins the AWWA Best Tasting Water Contest
The Neuse Regional Water and Sewer Authority (NRWASA) received an award for having won the "Best Tasting Water Contest" at the North Carolina American Water Works Association (AWWA) Annual Convention. NRWASA is a state of the art surface water treatment facility that was built in western Lenoir County as an alternate source of water as a result of the "Central Coastal Plain Capacity Use Rules". NRWASA serves Lenoir and southern Pitt County and is owned and comprised of the following entities : Town of Ayden, Bell Arthur Water Corporation, Deep Run Water Corporation, Eastern Pines Water Corporation, Town of Grifton, City of Kinston, North Lenoir Water Corporation, and the Town of Pink Hill.
