The City of Kinston's Department of Public Services provides a wide array of services to citizens, including solid waste collection, electricity, water, sewer, and cemetery management.
These tasks are performed by over 150 highly-trained and skilled employees who take pride in their work and their community.
The Department of Public Services has received numerous awards and accolades for performance, safety, and customer service. The effort and knowledge used to achieve these awards is the same effort and knowledge used at each and every job site.
We are recognized as a Reliable Public Power Provider by the American Public Power Association. To qualify, individual cities are measured on reliability, safety, training, and system improvement. The communities have to own and operate their electric systems, offering customers excellent, local customer service. The City of Kinston was selected from over 2,000 public power utilities nationwide. |
