Channel 2 is the City of Kinston's Government Access Channel and is available on Suddenlink cable television in the Kinston area. Government access television is a resource to municipalities to address local municipal programming needs, often used to broadcast city council meetings, election programming, local emergency announcements and other events and programs as valued by the local government.

Programming consists of the following:

City Council meetings (live) - 1st & 3rd Mondays each month at 5:30pm; replayed at various times

Planning & Zoning meetings occur during Council meeting meetings

Announcements of City meetings, events, services, and job opportunities

City closings, delays, and holiday schedules

Safety and crime prevention tips

Recreation and Parks programs

Recycling and sanitation information

Videos with fire safety information

Other special government-related announcements and events

The Channel 2 Coordinator is responsible for messages and programming and may be reached by calling (252) 939-3172. Channel 2 does not present or contain any information relating to non-government groups or events, such as private/corporate businesses, religious groups, etc.
