The Water Operations section provides all maintenance and repairs needed for our water distribution system and wastewater collection system. Work on the water distribution system includes installing water mains and services, repairing water leaks and maintaining fire hydrants. Work on the wastewater collection system includes installing mains and services, repairing sewer pipes, cleaning pipes, and clearing blockages. Crews also maintain all city-owned wastewater lift stations, forcemains, low pressure mains, and sewer easements. Some work is also performed on the city stormwater system. In addition, personnel enforce the the City of Kinston Oil and Grease Compliance Program.
